L.C. Scott is the pen name for writing partners Chelsea and Lauren, childhood best friends who traded secrets long before they began plotting manuscripts. What started as poetry school projects and a reading club for two developed into a life-long friendship anchored by storytelling.
We shape every story, explore every character arc, and craft ervery pulse-pounding twist together. We hope our shared voice bridges the gap between romance and suspense genres while bringing to life authentic and relatable characters.
Meet Chelsea and Lauren
Chelsea
Chelsea is a creative writer and writing professor originally from Las Vegas, Nevada. She earned her MFA in Creative Writing, Fiction, but started her writing career in her Lisa Frank notebook crafting love poems for her first-grade crush, Kyle Corwin. She now lives in Southern California with her husband (not Kyle), two kids, cat, and demon dog. When she’s not playing AI-detective with student essay submissions, she spends her free time hauling her kindle to kids’ soccer games, writing bad poetry, and being *that* really annoying feminist friend.
Lauren
Lauren is a criminal appellate attorney with a J.D. from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, College of Law. She’s the sparkly and hopeless romantic one of the writing duo who spends her billable hours convincing higher courts that the lower courts were charmingly mistaken, while juggling the roles of wife and mother to two amazing children and one perpetually shedding dog. In between legal writing, bedtime stories, and occasional dog-hair-covered blazers, you’ll find her audiobooking the latest romance read while folding laundry.
